Position description

The Bioengineering department in the School of Engineering anticipates hiring multiple Readers for the below courses for Academic Year 2025-2026:

BIOE 021: Introduction to Computing with Python
BIOE 106: Cell Biology and Physiology
BIOE 115: Biomechanics
BIOE 130: Biothermodynamics
BIOE 140: Biomolecular Engineering
BIOE 145: Bioprocess Engineering
Other courses as needed

The Reader will be responsible for grading homework, quizzes, exams as needed under the supervisor of the instructor. The position will require up to a maximum of 18 hours per week.

Qualifications

Basic qualifications

The Reader will have successfully completed the course or related course they are appointed to as a Reader with a grade of "B" or higher and be in good standing at the University with at least a 3.0 cumulative grade-point average (GPA). Readers will usually be graduate students; but qualified undergraduate students may be employed, especially when graduate students are not available. Professional readers, not enrolled as students, may be employed to meet special needs, but only on an hourly basis.
