Position description
Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral research position at the University of California Merced. The successful applicant will work with Prof. Anna Nierenberg on topics relating to using strong gravitational lensing to measure fundamental properties of dark matter. Of particular interest are candidates who are interested in research in one or more of the following: gravitational lens observations and analysis, AGN emission region properties, dark matter particle physics and simulation, and statistical inference methods. Available resources include JWST and Hubble Space Telescope data, and access to the W.M. Keck Observatory and the PINNACLES shared cluster and the San Diego Super Computing Center. A fraction of the successful candidates' time is expected to be devoted to independent research.
Qualifications
PhD in Physics, Astronomy, Statistics, Computer Science or related fields.
