Position description
The Assistant Project Scientist position requires creative contributions to and collaborative development of Physically Informed Neural Networks for SAR Imaging. The candidate in consultation with the Principal Investigator will determine the architecture of the Neural Network and the loss function to be used for SAR Imaging. He/she will also evaluate the role of the Physically Informed loss and help gain some insight on which scenarios it is beneficial to use it. The candidate will supervise students regarding the technical aspects of the research, including methods development, trouble-shooting problems and interpreting results.
The candidate will publish research results in peer-reviewed journals, and conference proceedings in collaboration with the PI and other members of the research team.
The candidate will participate in conferences appropriate to the field; serve as a reviewer of research proposals and scientific publications as appropriate; attend seminars to present research results and may give oral presentations to public and professional interest groups; and coordinate the Imaging and Sensing seminar at the Applied Mathematics department.
Qualifications
PhD in Applied Mathematics and at least 3 years of postdoctoral experience.
Research experience in imaging and/or inverse problem and machine learning.
