Position title: Lecturer in Summer Session
Salary range: A reasonable estimate for an initial appointment is $66,259. See Table 15 for the salary range for this position. For current appointees, normal compensation will be based on the annual salary of the Unit 18 non-senate faculty in effect as of June 30 of the calendar year in which summer session begins. Salary is prorated in accordance with the instructional workload calculation.

Summer Session B Dates: 6/17/2024 – 8/9/2024
Summer Session C Dates: 7/1/2024 – 8/9/2024
Summer Session D Dates: 5/20/2024 - 8/9/2024

Position description

The School of Natural Sciences anticipates hiring full and part-time lecturer positions to teach the following subjects in Summer 2024:

Introduction to Physics I for Biology Lab
Introduction to Physics II for Biology Lab
Introductory Physics I
Introductory Physics I Lab
Introductory Physics II
Introductory Physics II Lab
Physics I - Biology
Physics II - Biology
Other courses as needed

In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor will be evaluating student work and exams, calculating and posting grades, and holding regular posted office hours each week.

This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and appropriate collective bargaining agreement. Qualifications

Basic qualifications

Advanced degree in Physics or related field and experience teaching at the college or university level is required.
