Position description
The Mechanical Engineering Heat Transfer Lab is looking for a qualified postdoctoral researcher that is self-motivated, creative and enthusiastic to work on experimental measurements and numerical simulations of nondiffusive heat transfer in micro/nanomaterials and their interfaces. This postdoc will be co-mentored by Dr. David Cahill from University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign and Dr. Yanbao Ma from University of California Merced. The duties of the postdoc will include i) conduct experiments and simulations to characterize non-diffusive heat transfer in micro/nanomaterials and their interfaces; ii) writing papers describing the results of the evaluations and investigations, and iii) assisting with the oversight of graduate and undergraduate assistants working on these projects.
Qualifications
Must have a PhD in thermal science and engineering, or related field, and experience in the thermometry and modeling. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills.
Highly motivated individual who has demonstrated the ability to work independently.
