Two Post-Doctoral positions are available within the laboratory of Dr. Kirk Jensen [http://faculty.ucmerced.edu/kjensen5/] at the University of California Merced. The lab is seeking two highly motivated immunologists or parasitologists that are interested in exploring adaptive immunity to parasites. We are looking for team players that are excited about studying host-parasite interactions and have excellent communication skills. Experience in molecular biology and immunology is required; experience in parasitology, genetics, ATAC-seq and computational skills is a plus.

Requirements include a recent Ph.D., D.V.M. or M.D. Successful candidates should be highly motivated with an outstanding publication record. The applicant must be able to design and conduct experiments, prepare and present research findings at meetings, write scientific manuscripts and fellowship proposals. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills in English, and capable of working independently. Experience in parasitology, and/or cellular immunology is desired. Experiments will include a variety of molecular biology techniques, flow cytometry, sterile cell culture, mouse handling, cell isolation methods, and use of R. Preference will be given to candidates with no more than two years of prior post-doctoral training.

Salary is based on the University of California Academic Salary Scales. This is a full-time, one-year appointment with the possibility of renewal based on availability of funding, ongoing operational needs and satisfactory performance.
