An Assistant Specialist position is available in the research group of Professor Shahar Sukenik in the area of Biophysical Chemistry. The specialist will work on protein expression and purification, which includes preparing, cloning, and sending for sequencing DNA plasmids, handling and transforming cell lines, protein purification using affinity chromatography columns and FPLC systems, and handling protein samples; ordering supplies and conducting general lab maintenance; and conducting experiments based on fluorimetry and CD spectroscopy. The specialist will also interact with and advise students with regard to experiments, processing, analyzing, and interpreting data and reporting findings to the PI. Other responsibilities include generating standard operating procedures, tracking and submitting billing and purchasing information, and monitoring and maintaining laboratory appearance.

Candidate must possess at least an MSc in biochemistry, chemical biology, or related field, and have good attention to detail.
