The School of Natural Sciences anticipates hiring teaching assistants for Academic Year 2018-2019, including Summer Session 2018, to staff the UC Merced Math Center.

The teaching assistant (TA) will be responsible for staffing the UC Merced Math Center. This is an undergraduate support program that integrates discipline-focused pedagogies and curricula, with educational practices that promote student success in lower-division mathematics courses. Responsibilities include creation, implementation, and assessment of academic support activities; enhancing undergraduate student understanding and application of mathematical concepts; supervision and pedagogical training of undergraduate instructional assistants; oversight of day-to-day lab activities and other duties in support of the center. The Math Center TA will report to the lead instructor, attend regular meetings and provide updates to the Math Center Steering committee as needed.

Bachelor of Science degree is required. Must be a registered UC Merced graduate student in full-time residence. Maintenance of a qualifying grade-point average is also required. Must meet all requirements outlined in the Graduate Advisor's Handbook.

Salary is based on an annual full-time salary of $41,306.00. TA's will not be appointed for more than 50% time during the Fall & Spring semesters.
