The University of California, Merced is a dynamic new university campus in Merced, California, which opened in September 2005 as the tenth campus of the University of California and the first American research university in the 21st century. Specific job duties include conducting reproducible scientific research, writing and submitting manuscripts for publication in peer-reviewed journals, presenting research at scientific conferences, assisting the PI in developing grant applications, training new members of the laboratory, and maintaining a professional, ethical, clean, and safe environment in the laboratory.

The applicant must have a Ph.D. and expertise in protein biochemistry. It is a plus if the applicant also has a background in spectroscopy.

Salary is based on the University of California Academic Salary Scales.
