The University of California, Merced is a dynamic new university campus in Merced, California, which opened in September 2005 as the tenth campus of the University of California and the first American research university in the 21st century. The scholar will work on projects related to the regulation of signaling transduction in brain development. The candidate is expected to conduct experiments in cultured cells and in mouse model, to interpret the results, and to write manuscripts on the results. The candidate is also expected to develop his/her own research questions within the scope of the project. This candidate may also involve in grant writing and student mentoring.

Qualifications for this position is a Ph.D. in cell biology, developmental biology or a related field. The candidate must be familiar with cell biology and animal experiments. Preference will be given to candidates with profound experience in cell biology and signaling introductions.
Salary is based on the University of California Academic Salary Scales.
