Position description
The Rube lab in the Applied Mathematics Department of UC Merced is recruiting a Specialist to conduct research. Cellular information processing depends critically on highly specific interactions between proteins and their ligands. However, predicting whether an interaction occurs based on the characteristics of a candidate ligand remains challenging. The Specialist will develop mathematical models of protein-ligand interactions and implement statistical methods that learn such models from experimental data. The Specialist may additionally conduct some biochemical experiments.
Tomas Rube is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics at University of California, Merced. He leads a mathematical biology research group, for more information, go to the website.
