Position description
The research group directed by Dr. Wan Du [https://sites.ucmerced.edu/wdu], is looking for one postdoctoral scholar to work on Internet of Things (IoT) systems.
We are interested in candidates who can contribute to any one of the ongoing research projects in our lab, including wireless networking (LoRa networks), mobile computing (deep learning for arm tracking by smartwatches), and deep reinforcement learning for building control and smart irrigation. If you have experience in Internet of Things, computer networks, signal processing, and Cyber-Physical Systems (CPS), you are encouraged to apply. The postdoctoral scholar will be responsible for conducting research, writing papers, and mentoring Ph.D. students. The candidate selected to fill the position will not teach any courses.

Qualifications
A doctoral degree (or equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is required.
An appointee should have a record of academic accomplishments including published or in-press research in the field and a demonstrated record of University and/or public service.
The successful candidate should have demonstrated strong written and verbal communication skills as well as accredited mentoring skills to mentor graduate and undergraduate students who will work on relevant projects.
Highly self-motivated individuals who have demonstrated the ability to conduct scientific research independently and successfully are highly desirable.
