Position description

Candidates internal to the UCM Department of Literatures, Languages, and Cultures who had an appointment in 2021-2022 and submit materials by the “Initial Review Date” of April 25, 2022 will be considered prior to all external applicants.

The School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts anticipates hiring full and part-time lecturer positions to teach the following courses in Spanish for AY 2022-23. Course(s) being offered may include but not limited to:

Elementary Spanish I
Intermediate Spanish I
Intermediate Spanish II

In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor is responsible for creating a syllabus, holding weekly office hours (2 hours/week), and grading examinations and/or papers.

This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Qualifications

Basic qualifications

Advanced degree in Spanish language or Literature or related area and experience teaching at the college or university level are required. Must be able to provide a record of excellence in teaching.
