Position description

The School of Natural Sciences anticipates hiring full and part-time lecturer positions to teach the following subjects in Summer 2022:

Classroom Management and Interactions
Diversity in Education
Project-based Instruction
Technology in Education
Apprentice Teaching
Other courses as needed.

These pedagogy courses include general education topics combined with a focus on teaching STEM disciplines. The candidate will have opportunities to engage in program building efforts and have an extensive impact on the growth and development of the CalTeach program.

In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor will be evaluating student work and exams, calculating and posting grades, and holding regular posted office hours each week.

This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Advanced degree in STEM, education, or related field and experience teaching at the college or university level is required. Candidates with experience teaching STEM at the K-12 and the college/university level are preferred.

Salary is based on an annual full-time salary of $62,455.00 and commensurate with experience.
