Position description

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of California Merced invites applications for the position of tenure track Assistant Professor in Mechanical Engineering with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2022.

Exceptional candidates in all areas of Mechanical Engineering or closely related fields will be considered. The successful applicant will conduct independent research, advise and teach undergraduate and graduate students, and become involved in professional activities as well as service related to the mission of the Mechanical Engineering department and the university. Post-doctoral or other post-graduate experience is desirable but not required. We are particularly interested in attracting academically and culturally diverse candidates, especially those who can contribute to the growing diversity and excellence at our community.

Ph.D. degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field at the time of appointment.
