Position description

The School of Natural Sciences anticipates hiring full and part-time lecturer positions to teach the following subjects in AY 2021-2022:

Introduction to Earth Systems Science
Sustainability Science
Ecosystems of California
Weather, Climate and Environment
Other courses as needed

In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor will be evaluating student work and exams, calculating and posting grades, and holding regular posted office hours each week.

This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Advanced degree in Environmental Systems Sciences or related field and experience teaching at the college or university level is required.

Salary is based on an annual full-time salary of $56,381 and commensurate with experience.

Appointments for AY 2021/2022 and/or Fall 2021 semester are reviewed in April, and for Spring 2022 semester are reviewed in October. The posting will remain open through February 2022 to accommodate upcoming course needs and new applicants.
