The School of Natural Sciences at University of California, Merced invites applications for one new faculty position at the Assistant Professor (tenure-track) level in the area of Applied Mathematics starting July 1, 2020. We are seeking exceptionally qualified candidates with expertise within a broad range of topics in applied mathematics including, but not limited to, data-enabled science, scientific computing, mathematical modeling, mathematical biology, statistics, probability, and stochastic processes. Special attention will be paid to applicants who participate in interdisciplinary research, and who will contribute to developing the applied mathematics curriculum and to one or more of the campus research initiatives in the natural sciences, engineering and/or social sciences and who’s demonstrated excellence in research and teaching, and has strong interpersonal communication skills. Postdoctoral research and teaching experience are preferred.
Qualifications: A Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics or a related scientific field is required.
