The laboratory of Dr. Eva de Alba at UC Merced, is looking for a full-time self-motivated and qualified Junior Specialist for the analysis of protein function and protein interactions. The candidate is expected to use her/his professional expertise to make scientific and scholarly contributions to our lab. The successful candidate will perform protein expression and purification, protein biochemical assays to test protein function and protein-ligand interactions using several spectroscopic techniques, in particularly UV-Vis absorption and fluorescence spectroscopy.
Qualifications: Applicants must have obtained a B.S. in Biology or Chemistry and possess strong written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge on protein structure, purification and function is also required.
