Position description

UC Merced is also building the Downtown Campus Center, a $33 million, three-story administrative building in the heart of Merced.

The School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts seeks a lecturer(s) to teach course(s) in English for the Fall 2019 semester. Course(s) being offered may include but not limited to:

Introduction to Theatre & Performance

In addition to teaching the course(s), the instructor is responsible for creating a syllabus, holding weekly office hours (2 hours/week), and grading examinations and/or papers. The instructor may also be required to hold discussion sections or supervise a graduate student teaching assistant.

Masters and/or PhD and experience teaching at the college or university level are required. Must be able to provide a record of excellence in teaching.

This is a limited-term appointment which falls under the purview of the agreement for the Lecturers Unit between University of California and the American Federation of Teachers. Terms and conditions of employment are subject to UC policy and appropriate collective bargaining agreement. Salary is based on an annual full time rate of $54,738.00.

Full time and part time positions available. Three courses in Fall and three courses in Spring are equivalent to full time position. Part time varies based on need and availability.

Fall Semester: August 21, 2019 – December 20, 2019
